Media Changeout

Planned Changeouts Within the Operator Turnaround Window

SorbiTech media changeout is the lifecycle service that delivers a complete adsorbent bed replacement during the host plant turnaround: unload spent media under nitrogen, certify it for disposal or for off site reactivation, load the fresh charge with controlled bulk density, and verify the as commissioned outlet during a witnessed first cycle. Typical campaigns run 5 to 14 days per vessel and are sequenced with the host unit shutdown so the adsorber is not on the operator critical path.

Changeout Scope

The standard media changeout scope covers:

  • Mobilisation of changeout crew, vacuum unloading equipment, and PPE
  • Spent media unloading under nitrogen with sampling for disposal certification
  • Vessel internal inspection (corrosion, distributor condition, support hardware)
  • Loading of fresh Medaad media to the target bulk density
  • First regeneration cycle and outlet performance verification
  • Handover of campaign report with load density, mechanical integrity, and post loading vessel cleanliness

Inventory Management

For multi unit operators, SorbiTech maintains a forward inventory plan that aligns the Medaad media warehouse stock to the operator turnaround calendar across all units. The plan prevents stock that ages out of specification, prevents emergency air freight that costs three times the standard supply, and matches the changeout campaigns to the host plant outage schedule. The service is typically retained alongside activated carbon reactivation for water treatment operators in the municipal water sector.
