Engineering Support
Technical Support Across the Operating Life
SorbiTech engineering support is the lifecycle service that gives the operator a contracted technical contact for the chemical engineering questions that arise during operation: bed re sizing after a feed quality change, regeneration cycle optimisation, comparison of alternative grades against capacity loss, root cause analysis of an unexpected breakthrough, and modification studies for a debottleneck. The service is delivered remotely with optional on site participation for the higher service classes.
Typical Engineering Scopes
Common engineering support engagements include:
- Bed re sizing after a contracted outlet tightens (e.g. PFAS now regulated)
- Regeneration heater duty optimisation to reduce parasitic energy
- Cycle time adjustment to extend campaign life
- Grade comparison study (e.g. 4A vs 3A in cracked gas service)
- Process simulation for a debottleneck
- Root cause analysis of a premature breakthrough
- HAZOP and SIL participation for a brown field modification
Where It Connects
The engineering support service is most often retained by operators in the petrochemicals and refining sector and the oil and gas sector, where the asset life is 20 to 30 years and the operating envelope evolves across the period. The service complements engineering and design for new projects and lifecycle audit for periodic re assessment.
