Description
AloxSorb F is a high capacity activated alumina with high aluminium oxide content. The developed pore structure and high surface area deliver superior equilibrium adsorption performance. Service life is extended through low hydrothermal aging.
The grade is manufactured as smooth spherical beads with high mechanical stability. Dust formation is minimised. Resistance to crushing and attrition is high. AloxSorb F is engineered for reliable operation under demanding process conditions.
Applications
AloxSorb F covers the full adsorption duty spectrum across gas and liquid phase service. The same grade is specified for:
- Vapor phase dehydration
- Compressed air dryers
- Industrial gases purification
- Cryogenic distillation
- Liquid phase dehydration
- Solvents drying
- Water removal from oil emulsions
- Refrigerant cycles filtration
- Chloride guard bed
Use of a single grade across multiple duties simplifies inventory and standardises regeneration procedure across the plant.
TSA and PSA Operation
The pore structure of AloxSorb F suits both Thermal Swing Adsorption (TSA) and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) cycles. The spherical bead geometry delivers low pressure drop and uniform flow distribution across the bed. Equilibrium capacity is retained across many regeneration cycles.
Performance is maintained under high cycling frequency, elevated process velocity, and demanding mechanical service.
Regeneration
AloxSorb F releases adsorbed contaminants through countercurrent regeneration. Two methods are available. Thermal swing applies a heated purge gas. Pressure swing applies pressure expansion of the dried medium.
The appropriate cycle is selected from the process parameters of the unit. SorbiTech technical service specifies the regeneration temperature, gas flow, and pressure ramp for each application.
Product characteristics:
- High aluminium oxide content with developed pore structure
- Spherical bead form for low pressure drop and uniform flow
- Strong mechanical stability with low dust formation and high attrition resistance
- Versatile across gas and liquid phase adsorption duty
- Suitable for TSA and PSA cycles
- Manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality system
Position in the SorbiTech Range
AloxSorb F is the SorbiTech high performance grade. It is specified where one media must cover multiple duties rather than separate media for each service. The high aluminium oxide content delivers the equilibrium capacity required by both vapor and liquid phase operation. The spherical bead form preserves bed integrity through fast cycling and demanding mechanical conditions.
The grade is selected for adsorption packages where drying, purification, and guard bed duty must be served from a single inventory. Procurement is simplified, regeneration procedure is standardised, and service life is measured in years rather than months.
Supply and Documentation
AloxSorb F is supplied in spherical bead form. A range of particle sizes covers different bed geometries. Each batch ships with a certificate of analysis.
The complete Technical Data Sheet contains detailed specifications, regeneration parameters, adsorption capacity curves, and packaging options. The document is released on request.
AloxSorb F is available as standard media for an existing unit, as the charge in a SorbiTech adsorption package, or as a guard bed sized to specific process duty. The grade sits within the SorbiTech activated alumina family alongside PuraDry Ax drying grade and impregnated specialty grades.
Typical service includes compressed air drying, cryogenic air separation pre-purification, LPG and propane drying, and gas sweetening across the petrochemicals and refining sector and industrial gases.
